Dietary Fiber, sourced from soluble tapioca fiber, plays an important part in a healthy diet and has many roles in the body. This includes bowel regularity, lowering blood cholesterol levels, and helping you feel full longer.

Maple Syrup

Maple syrup is a natural sweetener that comes from the sap of maple trees. Since it undergoes less processing than refined sugar, more nutrients are preserved in the final product. Raw maple sap contains phenolic compounds and flavonoids, known for their antioxidant effects, and maple syrup contains vitamins such as iron, zinc, manganese, and calcium. Herbaland’s 100% pure maple syrup is sourced from Quebec, where it is manufactured at a carbon neutral certified facility.

FAQ

Why is this product not in compostable packaging?

At Herbaland, we are always looking for sustainable packaging options for our gummies. While most of our gummies come in 100% compostable packaging, we have had to return to our regular plastic packaging for others as we are facing supply chain issues with the compostable packaging supplier we work with. We are working to provide as many products in compostable packaging as possible, and are doing our best to ensure our products are good for you and the planet!

Are these gummies low sugar?

Herbaland’s gummies are predominantly low sugar or sugar free, and our original Oh My! Canada flavour was the same. However, after receiving feedback from our customers that the flavour could be improved, we decided to move forward with including maple syrup in our gummies as a sweetener and natural flavouring. Now, our 50g pouch contains 10g of sugar from the added maple syrup, making these gummies not technically “low sugar”. However, as the average pack of gummies contains 22g of sugar, these gummies are still the healthier option!

Is maple syrup better than regular sugar?

Maple syrup and sugar each have their own unique qualities. Maple syrup has about 52 calories per tablespoon and contains small amounts of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, making it a better alternative. It also has a lower glycemic index (around 54), meaning it affects blood sugar more gradually. On the other hand, sugar has 49 calories per tablespoon but lacks significant nutrients and has a higher glycemic index (around 65), causing a quicker spike in blood sugar. While maple syrup offers extra benefits, like minerals and antioxidants, it's still important to use both sweeteners in moderation. If you’re looking for a sweeter option that’s healthier, maple syrup is the way to go!
